Course Testimonial

"This course will give a great understanding of the background to wines and what we should be looking for when selecting a wine. The workbook is a lovely addition and enhances what the course will cover. The fact you only need a wine glass, a nose and a piece of white paper - nothing you won't have at home anyway - is fab."

“A perfect balance of personality and knowledge. Amy came across professional and personable, and the wine she suggested was lovely too. We learned about the regions, grapes, and the points to look out for when selecting wines to pair with foods. Such a fun evening, cant wait to do it again!”

Tasting Testimonial

“I have attended several of Amy's evening wine tastings and one of her day trips in Lebanon, and have been consistently impressed by her organisational skills, knowledge of the wines she is presenting, and the quality of her selection. I learnt a lot about each individual wine, and acquired many new favourites. I also felt that I learnt a great deal about Lebanon's rural landscapes and communities more widely, through her explanation of the viticulture process and excellent relations with producers. Great value for money, too.”

Hi, I’m Amy

Back in 2006, I started working in wine, and BOY was I in for a shock!

My first day in my first ever wine job saw me selling bottles of wine I'd never even tried. With over 1300 different grapes to choose from and more than 10000 references in store, it was a sharp learning curve, but the more I tasted and the more people I met, the more I began to understand not only the wines, but what exactly people were after. As I began to study for my professional wine exams my work involved market research and consumer data, and alongside my studies, I began creating my own profiling system that let me tap into and simplify the wine-world language. For the next 12 years I lived and worked between Mallorca, the UK and Lebanon, in private wine sales, corporate sales, marketing and events for wineries, as well as creating my own bespoke tastings, wine tours, and community. I had realised the best way to create maximum satisfaction for anyone, was to understand the emotional cues created by the wine and combine these with a relatable experience and I based my activities on this. I found creative ways of connecting with the people and the wines, and formed an eager community of wine lovers keen to learn about wines in a non-stuffy, informal yet informative manner. This course compiles some of what I've learnt, so you too can unlock the key to understanding your relationship with it more and maximising your wine experience.
